Co-Organizer of “Disabled Perspectives on MAiD in NL” Discussion Group

With Andreae Callanan

We are gathering a group of local disabled folk who care about end-of-life policy in Newfoundland and Labrador. Together we will watch the disabled director Reid Davenport’s documentary, “Life After,” and talk about it what Medical Assistance in Dying policy means for disabled people living in this province. For more information about the film, see TVO’s Life After webpage. If you are interested in joining the group, contact me at mcoughlin13@mun.ca.

Here is the plan for the group meetings:

Meeting 1: Meet one another and talk about access needs

Meeting 2: Watch the first 30 minutes of “Life After” and then talk about it in connection with our own lives

Meeting 3: Watch the second 30 minutes of “Life After” and then talk about it in connection with our own lives

Meeting 4: Watch the last minutes of “Life After” and then talk about it in connection with our own lives

Meeting 5: Look back on what was most important in what we talked about and do some writing and/or artistic activities
