Dr. Melanie Coughlin is an interdisciplinary scholar and educator in Asian philosophy and religion. She specializes in Japanese Buddhism, its historical relationship with European philosophy, and its relevance for contemporary social philosophy. She is jointly appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies and the Department of Philosophy at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.
